Our December Holidays

During the December holidays last year, besides doing homework , going for cca and training, I went to Bangkok for swimming competition with my swimming club friends. I really like the Thai cuisine especially the tom yam soup and the mango sticky rice! The people there are really friendly and I even made friends with some the Thai swimmers. The most interesting part about my trip to Bangkok was that just outside the hotel that we stayed in was the riot. Many protestors were outside shouting and protesting. I really enjoyed the trip very much and hope to go again.

Over the year-end holidays, I went to Paris and London with my family for a vacation. As we went there in early November, the weather was just transitioning from late fall to early winter, thus it was not very cold and the weather was really comfortable. We stayed in Paris for 3 days before heading to London for another 3 days, then at last going back to Paris for our flight back to Singapore. Overall I had a great time on the trip, we went to the Eiffel Tower, Musée de Louvre, Palace of Versailles,River Seine, shopped on the streets of Montaigne Ave and Champs-Elysées in Paris, while in London, we visited the Windsor Castle and went to Bicester Village, a factory outlet. There is a saying in Paris that when you make a wish as you take the boat trip down River Seine under a particular bridge, your wish would definitely come true. 

Returning back to Singapore, I spend the rest of my holidays catching up with my friends, finishing homework, attending dance practices and preparing for the new school year. My grandmother visited Singapore at the end of December, thus I spend quite a lot of quality time with her as well, since I rarely get to see her as she lives in China. 

I enjoyed my December holidays really well, and I hope that soon, I'll be able to visit Paris and London again.

During the holidays, I was mainly in Singapore. I had Floorball training twice a week until the first week of December. In November, my uncle held his wedding at home and the whole family helped with the preparation. We spent the whole morning decorating the place and our house. It was quite a busy day but I had lots of fun. 

I went to Gold Coast, Australia in December. We stayed in an apartment there and went to 3 different theme parks. The part I liked the most about the trip was the jet boat experience. I liked the feeling of the thrill and the speed of the boat. One night, we cooked our own steak in the apartment. It was quite nice but not as nice as the ones we eat in restaurants.

Yao Hui

During December holiday, I visited china. I went to shanghai, Wuxi, Suzhou, Hang Zhou with my family and cousins. First we went to shanghai on a plane. Then we met our tour guide there. He was very friendly. Our tour group consists of only 14 people in which 7 people are from my family. We visited a lot of places in shanghai like the tallest tower which has 101 towers. We took the elevator to the 100th floor and we could see a lot of places from the top. Then, we went to Wuxi. We got to take a boat to our hotel. We changed hotel everyday except for the last two days which we stayed in shanghai. We visited a lot of   popular places. We then went shopping and bought a lot of clothes. It was so cold in china that we wore clothes, 1 jacket and 1 wind breaker. The food we ate in China was quite delicious, though some of them was like too sweet or sour. The fishes served on the restaurants have a lot of bones, thus it was quite hard to eat. We also visited the place where they make silk. They have to wash the silk first, then separate the silk to reveal the insect and throw away the insect. Then, they will stretch the silk to make it longer. The salesman was always asking us to buy but we did not want, then they keep offering us discounts and offers, but we always denied them. The next place we visited was the selling of sapphire, emerald and jade. The people from tour guide bought a lot of stuff from them, they bought like $10000 worth of Singapore dollar. We also visited the place that made pearl. The family from our tour guide also bought a lot of pearl necklaces, they even bought a gold pearl necklace. They spent a lot of money on this trip. The last day was free day, we spent the day shopping at the shopping mall nearby the hotel. Finally, it was time to go home, but we reached the airport too early and have to wait for 2 hours more in the airport. I enjoyed this trip very much and I learnt a lot about china history.

I had a fruitful december holidays. At the beginning of November , i went on a 5d4N trip to hong kong and guangzhou. I found out it was convinient to travel between he countries as all was needed was just a 2 hour train trip from hung hom station.

I found guangzhou to be much different from hong kong and our country. For one, food and 

electronics is inexpensive. However, if you plan to take a taxi, it would be better if you took the train as many drivers insist on a exorbitant price which is usually 3 times the normal price.

At the start of december, i went to kuala lumpur. I usually more than 8 times to Malaysia a year. Thsi time, i toured the outskirts of malaysia, such as near the palace of the prime minister. Im the last few weeks,  i took the chance to finish my homework
